Imagine Dragons are a Grammy award winning Las Vegas band who have exploded to the top of the alternative rock scene with their third studio album Evolve. With a string of chart topping singles including the ferocious ‘Believer’, ‘Natural’ and ‘Thunder’ they are fast becoming the most talked about new rock band on the planet.
They also have a new track to share, which has been officially premiered as Zane Lowe’s World Record on Apple Music Beats 1. The song titled ‘Zero’ was written and recorded for the upcoming Disney movie Ralph Breaks the Internet.
‘Zero’ is an empowering pop-rock track that celebrates those who are not quite like everyone else. It encourages people to stand up to those who mock them and be themselves.
The band have recently released a lyric video for this track as well, which is full of references to 21st century internet culture. It includes image macros, wince inducing fonts and even arguments in YouTube comment sections.
This track is a good indication of what to expect from their upcoming fourth studio album, ‘Origins’, due for release in November. The track reflects polar opposite sides of the band’s sound, yet retains the same lyrical relevance and thematic complexities that have made them such an influential force within the music industry.
The band have had a huge 2018 so far, with ‘Natural’ being a surprise drop in July and ‘Thunder’ and ‘Believer’ racking up multiple platinum sales. With these latest releases alongside ‘Night Visions’ and ‘Evolve’ it looks set to be another incredibly successful year for the Las Vegas four piece!
