Dragons Pathfinder

Dragons are the most powerful creatures in Golarion. Even a single wyrmling is a challenge for a party of modestly-experienced adventurers, but an ancient dragon is a formidable foe that requires considerable time and skill to defeat. They’re savage fighters who rampage for plunder and rule mighty nations with iron claws, and their fabulous treasure hoards are the stuff of legends. They also possess a vast array of supernatural powers, including their magical breath weapon, which can be fire, ice, acid, or electricity.

As dragons age, their base hit dice increase and they gain new abilities, attacks, and save bonuses. This is reflected in the dragons pathfinder entry for each dragon, which also notes how much their natural armor bonus increases with each age category. Other key statistics for each dragon are also noted, such as their CR and how likely they are to turn good or evil.

The book’s design is well done and the art is stunning. The introductory artwork for the bronze dragon, for example, conveys the fearsome power of the beast as it clutches an orc slave with its claws and blasts it with lightning breath. The wyrmling brass dragon introductory art is also impressive, depicting the young and vulnerable creature as it is being attacked by a frost giant. The only negative aspect of the book’s layout is that each dragon entry repeats information from its predecessor. It would have been better to put the older entry’s content in a sidebar and present only the new information.
