Welcome to Dragon's dogma review! I will discuss the show itself, some of the characters, and things I noticed. It’s a great anime with some very interesting ideas. It’s different from the old type of fantasy that was all “knights and princesses fighting off monsters!” The new series takes that classic premise and it adds dragons.
This is where the dragon comes into play. The protagonist is Ryuki, and he is a young boy who lives in a peaceful town of Madojima. One day, while looking outside his window, he sees two figures riding a white horse… Ryuki then thinks to himself that he should report them to the town elders but first, he must figure out what is going on. Once he does that, he can go look at the scene of the crime and apprehend the criminals.
Dragon's dogma starts off with an interesting premise. There are two teenagers, Ryuki and Mio Amatori, who are barely old enough to drink. They are soon joined by another teenager, Yuusuke Tozawa, who happens to be their grandmother’s boyfriend. Because of this, the three of them quickly become friends with a girl named Chiaki. Their grandmother was supposed to come back from death, but she managed to live long enough to see her son begin school.
Because of all this, Chiaki begins to have feelings for the boy she was just too young to love. At first, she does not believe them, but soon finds herself starting to care about him. There is a lot of romance going on throughout this anime, which is why it is enjoyed so much. There are many emotions depicted, but none are as touching as love.
Because of the beginning romance, this anime is incredibly dramatic. It makes you feel like you should cheer for the main character, and there is even a few sad moments. Because of the way this show plays out, this can be considered dark. However, it is not for everyone.
If you are a man, you might want to stay away from Dragon's dogma. This is a very romantic anime that will make you cry. If you are a woman, you will probably find this romantic. If you are a child, you will probably grow emotionally attached to this anime. This is one of those shows you should watch with your child, and not the other way around.
