Dragons and Dragon Dungeons

Dungeons and Dragons is a tabletop roleplaying game that was first published in 1974 and helped create the RPG renaissance. The game is designed to let a group of players, called “player characters”, tell their own stories together, with the help of one person who acts as the storyteller, known as the Dungeon Master (DM). The D&D world can be taken from existing settings like Greyhawk or Eberron or created completely from scratch and shaped around the choices made by the player characters.

A dungeon is a place of adventure, danger and mystery. It is where the PCs will encounter dragons and other monsters and try to find treasure, solve mysteries and save people in peril. The dungeon is the core of the D&D universe and it can be anything from a cave to a castle or city.

There are many species of dragons in the D&D world and they are generally depicted as large reptilian beasts with wings that allow them to fly. They are highly intelligent and most have some form of magic. In addition, most dragons are said to have an affinity for a particular element.

The D&D world is filled with dragons of all different kinds, from the lawful good paladin-like gold dragons to the cruel and greedy chaotic evil red dragons. In addition, there are also metallic dragons, chromatic dragons and a few others that don’t fit into any of the main categories. Despite this, all of the dragon subraces are generally seen to have similar attitudes and philosophies.
