When office worker and programmer Kobayashi opens the front door one morning, she’s greeted by a dragon who immediately transforms into a young maid girl and introduces herself as Tohru. The dragon claims to have come from another world and after she removes a holy sword from the monster, Kobayashi offers to let Tohru stay in her home as her personal maid. Despite a distaste for humans, she agrees and the two begin living together. During her time with the dragon, Kobayashi develops a motherly side and learns to appreciate the things she has in life.
In addition to her own growth and development, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid also delivers tons of heartfelt interactions between the characters. Most of the dragons, such as Kanna and Quetzalcoatl are shown to have romantic feelings for Kobayashi while Tohru begins to view her as a mother figure. While some of the dragons, such as Lucoa and Shota, feel a bit out of place due to their raunchy jokes, the entire cast is well-rounded and enjoyable to watch.
As a big fan of dragon manga, I can’t wait to see how the story progresses and what shenanigans the lovable cast will get into. If you’re looking for a new show to watch, I highly recommend checking out Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid and enjoy the many heartwarming moments it has in store. Until then, take care and happy reading!
