Dragon lizards are a unique species of lizard that are able to glide and fly. They have enlarged ribs and membranes that can extend to become wings, and they are arboreal insectivores. The most fascinating thing about these lizards is their ability to climb trees, but they are also capable of gliding. For this reason, they are often called flying frogs.
The dragon lizard’s body is made up of layers of skin that are covered in hair and scales. The thick fur on its body protects it from predators. Because the skin is covered in scales, the dragon can easily roll into a ball and escape in a matter of seconds. The armored lizard’s head is made up of spikes and can grow to 3.5 inches in length. Their sharp teeth and bodies give them a unique look and feel of a dragon.
The Australian Physignathus has enough differences to be classified into its own genus. It was originally assigned to P. cocincinus, but has been reclassified as Intellagama lesueurii. Its names were changed in 2012 after the publication of a new scientific study. It is still unknown how the Komodo dragon survived. But its story is an inspiring one, and it’s a must-read for all lizard enthusiasts.
