The dark, heroic, and epic fantasy role playing game series Dragon Age has won legions of devoted fans. These books build directly on the story of the games and feature fan-favorite charachters.

Dragon Age is a rich and compelling world that includes a variety of races—humans, dwarves, elves, and mages—all with their own unique culture. They live in a universe that is rife with politics, wars, and power struggles between kingdoms and political factions. It is a place where the choices you make have real consequences and where the people you meet will stay with you for life.

It’s a long, complicated story with toxic family relationships, friendships that blossom and fall apart, betrayal, and more. But it’s also a story of forgiveness and finding new ways to love your old friends and family. It’s the story of Maric Theirin, son of the assassinated Rebel Queen Moira Theirin, who is super duper not prepared for the leadership he inherits after his mother’s death but will give it his best shot to overthrow the Orlesian tyrant and reclaim his kingdom. Along the way he is joined by Loghain, a farm boy with a heart of gold and the voice of the wind, and Rowan Guerrin, his knightly betrothed who’s a competent leader of the rebel army’s cavalry.

Until recently, the only thing fans of the series had to look forward to was the next Dragon Age game, a sequel to the 2010 title Dragon Age Inquisition, which itself was a huge success and won a lot of awards. But that project was canceled in 2017.
